Is it really kudzu? I have a horrible time with porcelain berry and bindweed but I don’t think I’ve seen actual kudzu in my garden.
Might be Porcelain Berry, based on wikipedia images. Sadly, bottom line remains the same: No more planting beds in our yard.
The good thing about porcelain berry is that it doesn’t have runners like Virginia creeper (which I know is native but is very aggressive) or some other vines. So even though it can get shockingly large in a season, you should be able to follow it back to relatively few stems and dig them up. Just find a strong section and start pulling. When my garden is weedy (as it is now!) I try to time my efforts. try to get the porcelain berry and the bind weed before they bloom and set seeds. It helps.
