The good thing about porcelain berry is that it doesn’t have runners like Virginia creeper (which I know is native but is very aggressive) or some other vines. So even though it can get shockingly large in a season, you should be able to follow it back to relatively few stems and dig them up. Just find a strong section and start pulling.

When my garden is weedy (as it is now!) I try to time my efforts. try to get the porcelain berry and the bind weed before they bloom and set seeds. It helps.

You can kill porcelainberry. Cut down to the root, dig out as much root as you can, and paint glyphosate on that freshly cut root. It will not come back.

I really doubt you're dealing with kudzu.

Is it really kudzu? I have a horrible time with porcelain berry and bindweed but I don’t think I’ve seen actual kudzu in my garden.

Giving up on our flower/planting beds this fall due to the persistent / recurring Kudzu invasions. I cannot keep up with the weeding to keep the Kudzu out. We will turn them into grass. Keeping the trees and tall hedges as is for now. Sigh.
