Even though not far from each other they have distinctions and don't overlap much, surprising to me as someone who moved to AA County from NOVA a few years ago. Also though, Baltimore City and County and AA county have large immigrant populations, so longstanding regional distinctions are disappearing. Baltimore is not the Hairspray movie anymore. In the entire area you have poorer to lower middle class immigrants looking for safe affordable housing, and rich immigrants looking for "the best schools", so hence, the area is becoming an areas of extremes just like everywhere else in the U.S., and no solid, middle class area full of old stock Americans (black or white) or affordable to them.[/quote]
