We got the same email. Virtual classes offered during math block, up to 25 students from across the county in the class. Qualified by SOL and iReady scores.
Oof, I don’t know how I would feel about a virtual math class for a class as fundamental as Algebra. Now on the one hand, clearly if a kid is that advanced in math, they have the interest and the ability to do well even in a virtual class. But on the other hand, 6th graders are 6th graders. Are they saying that only 25 6th graders qualified for Algebra across the whole county? That’s a very low number if so. I could imagine that number alone from a high SES AAP center school.
