OP here. It was an info from another parent. They said high pass SOL and iReady scores as they pertain to algebra (no clue what that is). I haven’t received an email, even though my kid has really high scores in both. I wish I knew more. This was for kids entering 6th grade.

Oof, I don’t know how I would feel about a virtual math class for a class as fundamental as Algebra. Now on the one hand, clearly if a kid is that advanced in math, they have the interest and the ability to do well even in a virtual class. But on the other hand, 6th graders are 6th graders.

Are they saying that only 25 6th graders qualified for Algebra across the whole county? That’s a very low number if so. I could imagine that number alone from a high SES AAP center school.

This is great news. Years ago our DC was one of 3 kids at our AAP center who qualified for alg 1 h in 6th, and we all had to carpool our kids there and back to the local middle school for the class 1st period.

No idea who is teaching this pilot program or how many elementary schools have been selected by fcps. My kid is entering 6th grade. I have no idea what 1125Q means; this language is straight from email sent to parents.

old or new, obstacle course for sure. couple of hundred kids failing grade level is business as usual, but a dozen kids requesting algebra 1 in 6th, that's a getting too much ahead four-alarm fire emergency!

We received an email last night saying that our child is eligible. Rising 6th.

Does the information apply for rising 6th? I am very curious. I wish I have an information.
