I called the HR department of the second company and they said they hadn't started reviewing, so likely I'll have to decide what to do before the second background check clears. They said I should be receiving an email from the HR team if they have any questions or need additional information, but I haven't received it yet.

I've tried searching the internet and everyone else's problem seems to be that they can't substantiate their employment. I can do that, but don't know what to do about this additional information (the first offer) on my background report. I had planned to decline the first offer and now I'm terrified that both offers will disappear and I'll be out of work for another 5 months...

They will view you as expendable, since you are a flight risk and will drop a job for another at the drop of a hat. [/quote]
