I once took a Federal job because it was the only offer in hand. After 6 weeks, a commercial company (that I had talked with prior to starting as a Fed) called and offered me a job at 20% higher salary.  I resigned giving 2 weeks notice and explained to my boss the salary difference and that I had thought the other company was not going to make an offer. Not ideal, but totally honest and truthful. Yep, I did this too but from private sector to fed. Started a job, did a 2-week offsite intensive training, and at that training got a call to interview for the fed job I really wanted. I ended up with an offer and “worked” a total of 8 weeks for the private sector firm. Employers get it.

Just play it cool - I can tell are freaked out after looking for work for months. But two offers is great news! Congrats![/quote]
