I'm so glad that my DD will be entering her final year of club play at that point. College commitment will be made and will be playing more so to get ready for that adventure. So tired of all this BY v. SY and GA v. ECNL nonsense... Good luck to those who have kids that are just getting involved in club soccer.
I'd argue this is the worst time ever for your kid to be entering college (sorry for her). Sure things will change, but much younger kids will have time to adapt.
OP here. I disagree. She can play next year at her current ECNL club at U17 and her U18 season will be a formality. Bigger issue we are dealing with now is the continuing changing landscape of college sports and how it impact her recruiting. Roster limits, settlement agreement, fully funded teams or not. It's a lot to work through. Younger kids (like U12 now) can adapt. The kids caught at the U14/U15 levels are going to have it rough for a bit as clubs jump leagues and players want to find what's best for them moving forward. Ugh. Glad we are approaching the end.
