Why do people think these numbers are off?  They seem right.  25-30% of a team goes D-1.  15-20% D2 and 15-20% D3.  All seems about right.  What surprises me is 35-40% do not play in college.  That is way higher than I would have thought but could very well be true.

agree--they don't seem too off. Anecdotally, looking at our club...the past 3 years of recruiting landed about like this. That only 60% play isn't all that surprising given all the international and transfer stuff which will probably rise over time. But would like to know the source.  You can find the girls stats relatively easily. . There are several places that publish this that I've seen. There are something like 20% more slots for girls than boys which is why the boys have a harder go. I am hearing that its getting tougher for internationals though so maybe the numbers will hold steady for the moment. [/quote]
