Who has determined that “it’s no big deal”?  Fireworks are dangerous.  I agree with OP that it is a big deal.  Maybe, those who think “it’s no big deal”, should confine their activities to private property, preferably far away from bystanders.  If someone is shooting projectiles at people, cars, and homes, then it seems reasonable to be concerned about danger to the people, cars, and homes being targeted, as well as everyone and everything in the general vicinity.  Moreover, since the fireworks were on PUBLIC property, then as a member of the public, OP is minding their own business.[/quote]
