Thanks [/quote] DP; but one school of thought is that the SCEA/ED round at the ivies is full of all of the athletes and otherwise hooked kids, so the advantage in the stats is illusory, and the strong early pool can put an unhooked kid at a disadvantage. I think it's hard to paint with a broad brush on this. Certainly, doing SCEA to Yale may not be the right choice for a non-institutional priority kid, but if your child is a male humanities kid, there could be a true advantage in some of the pools. SO ... pick a strategy, just be sure to have a balanced list and assume that you're kid will be among the 95% of rejected applicants to the ivies.[/quote]
