DH is an alum, one DC graduated and another attending. 3 different major paths, but all love their time at CMU. It is a tough school, no doubt. But the community is extremely supportive, not cut throat at all. Having said that, for a finance minded student, I would have to vote for Stern over Tepper, although there are plenty CMU Tepper kids and CS kids end up on wall street.
