If you don't even want to mention an exchange, then I would just make sure she likes and wears bracelets.  If she doesn't wear bracelets now, it's not likely to happen.  If she does, and matches them to necklaces, you are quite on track.

I would go for a gold, silver, or black bracelet as the most versatile.  You can probably tell from her wardrobe, jewelry, and glasses what would work best.

I liked the mini-Clic from just looking.  And some of the patterned metal designs.  One was called Chaines.

If the thin ones are meant to be worn in sets, consider whether this will become a habit (e.g., new bangle for every occasion).  I'd actually prefer to get a set of 3, one time, vs. a special gift becoming routinized.[/quote]
