It's also unintentionally funny, because Tom Cruise seizes his last chance at showing off, doing his fun run several times, and fighting and arctic diving nearly naked, which leads to scenes that are even more unrealistic than usual but that we found hilarious just because they're over-the-top. All MI movies that follow the original need to be watched while making fun of TC, you see. My daughter calls MI2 the "hair commercial" because that's when he and his romantic partner slide around in cars on hairpin bends while tossing their hair around.

Apparently during filming TC blacked out while cavorting on the wing of the biplane, and McQuarrie thought he'd fall right off while in flight. But he woke up and didn't. It's interesting to know this and see the action on the big screen.

Go for funsies. It's the end of an era and the stunts deliver.
