Anyone?
My volleyball playing DD has trained t at Healthy Baller in Rockville and likes it very much.
What kind of training do they do? My rising 9th grader has a gym membership and goes and does some workout exercises that she thinks help her (I think mostly leg training type stuff, combined with cardio and core)....but wondering if there are specific exercises that are recommended for volleyball -- either for reducing injury or increasing skills.
Plyometrics are really good to both increase the vertical and prevent injury. You don't need gym membership for most of them. But there only this much you can grow from plyometrics alone. Cardio and core are always good. Weight lifting is also useful, but you want to go for the type of exercises that increase speed and agility. You want to lift larger and larger weights, but that's not the main goal in volleyball.
