When my kid was choosing between a big public school basketball powerhouse and a magnet school. He visited the big school in March and asked to meet the coach. He was invited to a workout and offered a spot on the team after the workout, then invited to spring workouts and summer league. He didn’t play varsity until the end of freshman year. So not every rising freshman is recruited, but they are typically invited. [/quote]
