Tivoli at night is amazing so I'd actually err on going later depending on how old your kids are but you can absolutely find enough to do in three days.
NP who is also going soon- this is good to know although I'm seeing that sunset time is already 8:45pm so not sure if my ES-aged kids will make it that long!! We are planning to go to Tivoli the day we arrive (late morning/midday arrival from elsewhere in Europe so jetlag won't be an issue). Then we have 2 more full days. I'm trying to decide if trekking to either the Viking museum in Roskilde or the Experimentarium is worth it for one of the days- can anyone advise? It sems like there is a ton to do in central Copenhagen and I don't want to cut it short either. The children's wing of the National Museum and the Museum of the Danish Resistance also look interesting- I don't want to do too many museums, preferably 2 at most unless it's really rainy. But it's hard to decide which!
