At some point, the hardwood floors several feet away from the fridge started buckling - seemed odd but not related to the fridge.  A few days later I went down to the basement and it was totally flooded b/c the line was backed up and it had soaked through the first floor and through the basement ceiling.  The hardwoods upstairs were warping b/c water was running along the joist.  It caused thousands of dollars in damage.  In our basement, we had to rip out all the carpeting AND drywall b/c water had seeped into the bottom couple of inches of drywall.

Now DH knows I will kill him if he ever fails to change the filter on time again.   [/quote]
