So I had my eye on a Subaru but I am wondering if I should invest that money for my mother's home repairs instead. That really needs it because the house is starting to look dumpy. My mom can't make her own decisions to save her life since my dad left so I have to make all the decisions for her. get an old car instead? I was trying to get an SUV for more space and I had my eye on a hybrid but I think the home repairs would be a better idea, correct? And just look for an older dependable car right now? I am also a relatively new driver, but I wanted to drive a safer car that I had more features and sensors. So does anyone have any suggestions? What I should do here? Or what? Kind of older car that is SUV is reliable and has a hybrid function?
A house is an investment and will continue to make you more in equity if you maintain it and don't let it deteriorate. A vehicle is not an investment unless it's an antique and already expensive. SUV's are gas guzzling status symbols that serve no real purpose. Newer vehicles cost so much due to all the computer systems and sensors and other garbage tech gadgets. They would be HALF the price they are if all that junk was removed. TLDR - Houses are investments and worth keeping and maintaining. Cars are money pits and new ones are overpriced.
