This is OP.  I would LOVE to stay in Arlington.  This is an excellent find.  Thank you!  If you have any other suggestions like this, please send them my way.  I have a health condition where I overheat easily (as in dangerously overheat, not just feel hot), so I'm concerned about the window units, but maybe that's all I will be able to get in my price range.[/quote]

Sure! My second recommendation would be a garden style apartment in Falls Church City. Unfortunately Winter Hill in the heart of FCC has probably gotten too expensive for what you’re looking for, but here are some other ideas (not sure how soon you need to move)
- There are condos on the corner of Rt 29 and Jackson St that are in FCC. - The garden apartments behind the Giant near WFC metro are convenient to so much, esp. the new development across Haycock Rd. Some come up for rent around $2k.
