Wasn't expecting that! Hope their French is okay - that's the type of area you probably won't have that many English speakers, relatively speaking.

Maybe beach towns in Italy or Spain? The beach towns on either side of Genoa are great, as are the ones near Girona in Spain. Within pretty easy reach from Lyon by train.[/quote]
