Ross is an excellent small school with a really nice community, very good teachers, and a long-time principal. Most kids live in the neighborhood. I can't imagine you would be unhappy there, but it all depends on what your current school is and if you care about feeder pattern later on. Also, what kind of commute are you talking about? I would really prioritize a walk to school if your current school is decent, but that's just me.
Thank you for this! Feeder middle and high are the same for both my IB and Ross. Current school also has an amazing principal and great staff, different demographics of course (which is not a bad thing in my mind.) Lotteried sorta for the heck of it, mostly cause the facilities at current school aren't great, but we are otherwise very happy. Just didn't want to pass up a chance to get into one of those super sought after dream schools...and then, we somehow did and it's a tougher call than I thought even tho yes, no bad decision here.
