Daughter graduated from Cornell engineering. In CS, expect large classes, difficulty getting onto project teams, and challenges getting close to professors or doing research. Too many CS majors. Focus is on research and the PhD students. A ton of work for the students; 4 years of grind and no time for fun. Unimpressed by placement office. Could have same problems at any top research-oriented CS department such as Georgia Tech?
Daughter also graduated from Cornell Engineering. The classes are large but there is tons of support from TAs. DD enjoyed being on a project team all 4 years. Some are more competitive than others. She worked hard but also had fun. Loved the campus and walks in the arboretum. Graduated in 3.5 years and in working for a tech firm in CA...earning more than I do! I do not know much about GT. DD definitely wanted to go North.
