Too many CS majors. Focus is on research and the PhD students. A ton of work for the students; 4 years of grind and no time for fun. Unimpressed by placement office. Could have same problems at any top research-oriented CS department such as Georgia Tech?
Daughter also graduated from Cornell Engineering. The classes are large but there is tons of support from TAs. DD enjoyed being on a project team all 4 years. Some are more competitive than others. She worked hard but also had fun. Loved the campus and walks in the arboretum. Graduated in 3.5 years and in working for a tech firm in CA...earning more than I do!
I do not know much about GT. DD definitely wanted to go North.
