Well, what would you think would happen when you fire thousands at the IRS?  Fwiw, there's a memo detailing this that was presented to the incoming administration.  They know this will happen, that is the plan.  It is twofold, give more money to big business through failure to collect taxes and starve the beast/the federal government by reducing revenue.
