I think/thought, that i am pretty well regarded by many people here. I have a very good mid to long-shot external job possibility but it wouldn't come through until the summer.

What I would like is to negotiate _some_ job here with my same salary and title through May or June. I have reason to believe that they could put me on various projects that exist in the org. Also the job I just transitioned out of was very external, so if I get let go, I am going back to all the external contacts I have through that last position to re-start my job search, and it would make my current company look bad. So feel that there would be benefit for both parties.

Has anyone ever done this before? Is this totally unreasonable? Tips?[/quote]
