I’ve only seen that leukemia. Small sample size- I have two friends whose children have had leukemia. One “beat it” rang the bell etc, relapsed in three mos be died six mos later. Bone marrow transplant from sibling was not successful. It was horrific, he was 15. One seemed way worse off- he spent months at CHOP- but he’s in full remission and NED for 14 mos now- just got a drivers license. I hope it’s nothing- maybe an infection or pneumonia- but my only experience is tangential to the friends kids I mention above. I’m a prayer and a meditator and I do believe in the collective power of sending love- while the child’s medical condition will be well handled by the hospital and providers- it’s always the parents hearts I pray for as it’s indescribably difficult watching your children suffer - and not being able to fix it.
Thank you for this information, even if it's not what I wanted to hear. My heart went out to the parent who called me balling from the hospital. DH is his close friend, and now that DH was laid off, I suggested he drive a few hrs to visit and lend support for a few days. When they are ready. I am praying too.
