No, it was a straw man answer. You did not attempt to answer the original question, only posted a different question and answered it. The OP asked for examples of countries that espouse certain programs and values. Devaluing the opposite of those programs and values does not provide an example of the countries that fit the OP's question.

Both Norway and Germany have heathcare systems that are heavily sponsored by the government. Here's a link to a handy WHO chart showing to what degree European countries publicly fund their healthcare systems - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healthcare_in_Europe. Germany has actually maintained its domestic manufacturing instead of shipping it overseas to save a buck so a) they employ more of their own people in decent paying jobs and b) they make higher quality products that sell for higher prices on the world market. In many cases we just can't claim that anymore. Germany has also relaxed its visa rules to welcome more highly skilled workers into their ranks. Have we done these things? No. And both parties are somewhat to blame for that.

Plenty of these countries - Iceland (look particularly at how they came out of the banking fiasco), all the Nordics, Holland, Austria.

If you get rid of the healthy middle class and high innovation, there are a number of third world dictatorships that might fit.
