It's not the best neighborhood in DC but it's probably among the best investments. You can still buy relatively cheaper there, the housing stock is good quality with a lot of potential, the lots are deep so you can get a real yard there, and it's still very close in and walking distance from plenty of things (including the booming Union Market area) and an easy commute downtown. Also it has plenty of street parking because it's purely residential despite being in close proximity to commercial areas, so it's easy to have a car there. It gets nicer all the time as people have bought up and improved houses there, and a lot of developers have come in and improved the small apartment/condo buildings as well. So it just has good potential for the price, and the walk ability and proximity to things is a big selling point. But I'm talking about actual Trinidad, West of Bladensburg, North of Florida, East if W. Virginia, and South if Mt. Olivet. I sometimes see both Ivy City and Carver-Langston identified as Trinidad on listings and that's not Trinidad. Those neighborhoods also have a lot of potential but don't have the same mix of factors as Trinidad and should cost less. Don't get fooled!
