This. Try it out during rush hour in the rain. And remember, your child will have social invitations in the area around the school too, so you'll be driving there on the weekends.

It's one thing to have a long drive with a preschooler who doesn't have much else going on, but your child eventually will start having homework, and sports or whatever activities you choose. If you've already locked yourself into a really long commute, it's going to be a struggle to make it all work. Far better to be realistic and choose your #1 preference among *reasonable* commutes.

And remember, you'd be driving this far for 8 years, all for a school that doesn't have great stats and many parents are unhappy with. The academics are really lacking at LAMB even if nobody wants to say it out loud. [/quote]

This. LAMB is simply not a good enough school to waste good lottery luck on.

I would personally put school within a school at the top, and have that be the reach. Have friends who drive there from across the river and feel so happy and lucky.[/quote]
