Initially posted on "Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers" In order of priority - DC Bilingual Elsie Stokes French Yu Ying LAMB Mundo Verde Ocho Calle Bruce Monroe Lee Montessori Shepard Hyde Addison La Salle Backus I've seen that I can drive past all these schools on my way to work and it's ordered for preference and commute. If there's something I'm not thinking about or I should know kindly suggest. And yes I am very aware that the list looks a little bit whack. LaSalle is my neighborhood school but I don't want to take my child there. I am just putting it as a last resort I also know Sade on a normal day Hyde Addison would be my number one but the chances of getting in is almost zero anyway so that's why I put it at 2nd to last.
If LaSalle Backus is your IB and you don't want to go there I'd put Whittier. OOB it's definitely no guarantee but it's an excellent local option and will be close enough to have neighborhood ish vibes. As others have said you probably need to go back to the lottery page because if Hyde and Shepard are your top choices they should be first and second.
