The whole point of the lottery was to shift that dynamic and get more poor kids who might not have the assistance or resources to be competitive. It used to be so monopolized by the affluent areas that the county had to guarantee anchored spots for TP middle to get local representation in the pipeline who had historically had not been as competitive with the required avgs for selection. If we are being honest it is child specific but we don’t know how the new selection criteria will affect completion or test averages.
