Is advanced math in third grade every day with an advanced math group? Or is it less than that? Everyone says Level IV is just advanced math, but I've also heard that those who are in Level III for math just get 45 minutes a week. Not sure what to believe.
What they mean is that Level IV really isn’t advanced in all areas of study. The kids do not dive that much deeper into Social Studies or Science and the LA extensions are pretty commonly taught in many regular class rooms at MC/UMC schools. The main area where kids are accelerated is math. Advanced Math uses the same curriculum as Level IV math. Level III is a 45-60 minute pull out once a week that tends to cover the same topics as the extensions in LIV classrooms. It is meant to be fore kids who are ahead in LA but not ready for Advanced Math. There are kids who are in Advanced Math or LIII with some in both.
