I don't know anything about LCPS schools, but would imagine they are newer and smaller than FCPS schools. Crossfield is fine (the PTO is terrible, but I think that's most PTOs in the entire regions), Carson is great, and while we haven't made it to Oakton yet, everyone we know with kids there has had really good things to say. Yes, the commute is tough, but everyone manages just fine. I'm not worried about boundaries for Crossfield. There is really nowhere else to send these kids other than Oakton.
Don’t some Crossfield/Carson kids go to South Lakes? Oakton is further away than SL so who knows what they’re going to do. We live in the Oak Hill area and like the location. You can get to a lot of things without it being too painful. I find Ashburn to be more soulless. The data centers are a real eyesore. You’re also stuck further out on one end of the larger metro area. Oak Hill is nice because you can access a bunch of major roadways fairly quickly (50, 28, 66, Toll Rd). If I was going to move out to Loudoun I think I would just go out to Leesburg. I like that there’s a real town feel and it’s prettier than Ashburn.
I don't think anyone from Crossfields goes to South Lakes. Fox Mill and some from Floris go to South Lakes.
