Here is the rule.  I'm sure the coach requested the split- its a pain for the table to do the splits, they aren't doing them absent a request.  It doesn't hurt your swimmer.  I don't think it is possible to set up the equipment to get 'automatic' splits- if it is I would like to know how :)  [/quote]
