They will now only admit 100 transfers from both internal and external, and 600 direct admit. Two years ago, they admitted a lot more so it was a bit more random. Now they are culling the program of weak students. My DC is a junior taking high level CS classes (and math), and the weaker students are struggling big time. UMD wouldn't want to put their rep on the line by admitted students who can't keep up.[/quote]
