PP here.  My son started at 12u- he had no interest starting any earlier, which was good, as I only wanted one season of travel and Little League overlapping.

It does go by one year groupings.  You could certainly choose to have your son play with his graduating year so he would be technically playing up on 15u (in my example) but you'd be well within your rights to have him play in the correct age group at 14u.  There is one potential issue with him playing 14u which is he would get one fewer year playing on the big field before he entered high school, but that may not bother you.[/quote]
