My kids all got all 4s for specials. All 3 kids in every single one. This has not been the norm before -- especially not for 1st quarter. Did something change with the grading policy for those?
Interesting! Yeah, teachers have told me that specials teachers like to give 3s at first so that they can show "growth" as the year goes on.
Specials teachers here. Not true. We give grades that reflect the work students are doing in the classroom in real time, not for projected growth. If your kid got a 3, it's because they deserved the 3. Your teacher was trying to sugarcoat it for you.
I’d assume all 4s in specials means a kid is a delight to have in class. Specials teachers, in particular, are behavior heavy in their grading. All 4s likely means not just not a behavioral issue, but a kid that makes class easier by participating, etc.
