Specials teachers here. Not true. We give grades that reflect the work students are doing in the classroom in real time, not for projected growth. If your kid got a 3, it's because they deserved the 3. Your teacher was trying to sugarcoat it for you.

My 4th grader has started each year with 3s and ended with 4s and I was told the same as the PP by multiple teachers. So either the entire profession is sugarcoating for every parent or you’re not correct.

Anonymous wrote:3s across the board and seems like the teacher just copy/pasted same text for every student. Comments don't reflect knowledge he's demonstrated in testing, in day-to-day work he's bringing home, or as discussed in PT conference.
