I got some baggier (not baggy! just baggier than ususal!) jeans -- high waist, wide leg but not in a trouser way, just in a denim way. Honestly I feel like I'm wearing my daughter's pants.
But also, GOD THEY ARE COMFORTABLE
That's how I felt when high waists came back in. Pulling up the jeans. Buttoning them at my waist instead of at my hipbones. It was lux.
This is real. I spent a decade in low rise and also a decade+ in skinny jeans. Pulling on a pair of high waist, straight or wide leg, jeans feels like heaven. And the best part is that even if I'm bloated or up a couple pounds, it feels pretty much the same. That's such a wonderful feeling, not having to think about or notice every minor weight fluctuation because it's so obvious in your skin tight jeans or visible in the parts of your hips or belly that are exposed thanks to a low rise. Liberation. I'll never go back. I'm in my 40s now and I don't care what happens with trends, I will never wear another pair of skin tight or low rise denim ever again.
