So my question here is ,will kids in level II in grade 1 and 2 will later be considered by the teachers for the level IV selection ?
Depending on your school, it just might make your AART more familiar with your kid. My first grader has level 2 services and gets once a week pull out for both math and reading with the AART teacher. It might also put your kid on radar to start looking at their work to put in their AAP portfolio, but not necessarily. Teachers don't select for level IV placement ( it is a county committee) but there is a local committee that can decide level III and level III. The kid's second grade teacher is the only one with teacher input with the HOPE Score.
This. And I agree with a PP that VALLS isn't designed to be an input for AAP; it's mainly to look for potential reading issues, not assessing how far above grade level the student is. Not sure what they will do to replace the iReady Reading Percentile because the Fall iReady percentiles were used last year in my DS's AAP packet. Also, you need to parent refer no matter whether the child is receiving Level II services or not.
On the other hand, if the child is showing any sign of reading difficulties this might indicate full-time AAP is not appropriate. So presumably the VALLSS scores are considered but perhaps are less informative than I-Ready was. I know my kid is doing new in-class assessments of reading and that might get considered somehow.
