It’s amazing how quickly lessons go when it’s 1-on-1 or 1-on-2.

You think kids who go to school are actually doing 6-7 hours of real instruction?

Getting everyone settled, lining up for bathroom breaks, waiting for disruptive students to stop whatever they’re doing, and the biggest one — gathering in small groups to color (or scroll on the iPad) while you wait for the teacher to get to your small group…

OK, but you can't do two hours of focused, direct instruction, for two children, in a single two hour block.  They're going to need a break in there, they need to do some work on their own, etc.

Completely agree. Homeschooling is awesome when done well! But no kid is sitting for two hours of straight instruction, even if their total school time ends up being that long. Breaks are needed.

But what an awesome gift to give a kid. More time to pursue their interests and play.[/quote]
