I have had LCs and LX since 1994. Also a couple of GXs along the way.

1994 80 Series
1999 100 Series - 3 of them
2003 GX470
2004 LX470
2008 GX470
2011 LX570

I paid almost as much for an 80 series LC in 1994 as they want for a new LC today. They are not the same car.

Plus why get the first year of a new gen - for 56k you can get a nice used 200 series.

I still have an older LX470 and I keep my eyes out for a nice one but they are expensive when clean. And with the VTTI Engine they handle quite well.

Best for overall reliability is probably the 1999 LC 100 series. But it’s a dog with the old 3 speed transmission.

And while the clean 100 series are expensive the 570s are coming down. You can a nice 10 year old one with less than 100k for under 30k.

And I also seek out the older GX470s - they are not full size but they are exceptionally  well built.

I realize this is not what you asked but if you like LCs those are my thoughts from 30 years of LC ownership.

LC people don't care about this because 1. we can drive and 2. audio is easy to upgrade. [/quote]
