Advanced Math has always been a mixed class in third and fourth grade. The JI and Gen Ed classes are divided by homeroom for Advanced Math starting in fifth grade. All the Advanced Math kids are in the same homeroom and the math class and they receive the next grade level math. I always felt like that class essentially became a LLIV class because most of the kids in Advanced Math were ahead in LA as well.

My child was too old for this, so I am getting feedback from friends. The school has a good number of kids go into AAP classes at Carson and Algebra 1 H in 7th grade. It might not be perfect but a lot of families choose to keep their kids in the JI program and defer LIV so the change was a welcome one. [/quote]
