I work for the government, and I have several colleagues who are extremely well off. I don't think anyone cares unless they flaunt their money. I would not go to work at a government job dressed in Chanel. I probably also would not wear a giant Cartier or Tiffany ring to interviews.  I feel like both of those things are flaunting your wealth and may make people think you don't need a job.
