Echoing what everyone else is saying. Walking is the best! I don't get hungry, I don't get hurt, my cortisol levels don't spike, and I absolutely love it. The weight is falling off. I aim for 15-20k steps per day which honestly isn't even that hard once you're in the habit (and yes, I work and have kids).
7-10 miles of walking a day? What is your pace? I do 3 miles each morning and it takes 45 minutes. Faster than 15 minute miles and you're running, essentially.
I go about 3.5-3.7 mph, on average. I find the easiest way for me to fit it in is to do one 3.5-4.5 mile walk every morning and the rest of the day I try to sneak in little walks when I can. I always walk after dinner and try to do a 10-15 minute walk after lunch, etc. If the weather sucks I go on the treadmill but always prefer outdoors if possible. I also got a walking pad which I put in front of the TV in case I'm short on steps in the evening and want to watch a show. Just being mindful and having a step goal makes a huge difference!
Cool. What you're doing sounds possible for me to incorporate. I love walking and I'd like to increase my steps. I have about 5-8 lbs I'd like to lose. Thanks for the tips!
