I know Loudoun County and the parts of Fairfax that are close to Loudoun have signifiant South Asian populations. Do any closer-in suburbs in VA? I would love to hear about specific high school districts that do have a decent South Asian population. We are looking to buy a home in the Virginia suburbs, but don't want to move very far out. When I look at school demographics, many schools have a significant Asian population, but I imagine this mostly means a large East Asian population. I know it really shouldn't matter, and it probably doesn't, since this area is quite diverse. I grew up looking very different from anyone else in my school, and I just don't want the same for my girls.
We live in a different world now. I experienced the same thing. Being the only person who looked like me. It actually taught me many things, dealing with some bullying, learning the art of making new friends. It was a good experience for me. But I know what you mean. The reality of today's world, however, is that if you pick any DC suburb, you will find an incredible divesity of kids, and as pp noted, whites are fast becoming the minority at most of these schools.
