[/quote] There’s a state deadline early July to resign without prejudice (meaning you can apply to be rehired at some point without them giving you the stink-eye). That sometimes produces a last minute chunk of new positions. About a week after that they freeze internal transfers. This is to try to get fall positions to settle - principals that still have open spaces need to decide what to do, and principals with a full staff aren’t surprised by a last minute internal transfer.
