I'm quite sure the same person keeps making these club comparison posts just to get the animals in the zoo riled up
Right, I was like is this normal to have an 8 year old try out at 4 clubs and then insistently call another club on what makes them better. I'm assuming this is U9? If this is real narrow down to the two closest to you that you were accepted at and compare how the tryouts were run. You need to decide if you want a small club or a large club. If your DD wasn't accepted at a club that has 5 teams, your probably going to be better off at a small club.
OP here. So what happened is during the original round of tryouts, my child only tried out with SYC. She kept getting called back and was being considered for one of the top teams, at least that's what we were told. She then was rejected after almost 6 weeks of leading her on. By that point, my child was so disgusted with how syc had treated her, that she wanted to reach out to other clubs to see whether there was any availability. I reached out to every Club within 15 min of our house because we were so late in the process. Four got back to me saying that they still had supplemental tryouts, and she tried out for three of them and got offers from all of them. So I'm just trying to figure out what to do from here. Don't know why I'm getting so much drama for just asking a question. Is this what I get to look forward to getting into travel soccer for the first time?
Because your DD is 8. Top team at 8 is worthless and just for sophomoric bragging. There are no elite 8 year olds. Puberty is the “great equalizer.” The initial question you posed has already been answered multiple times above. Touches, coaching and convenience. Don’t overthink it, she’s 8.
