does student have to be at a certain advanced level to be able to do their curriculum? I hear they are not easy
I know AoPS and RSM have placement evaluations that you must complete before starting, at least for their in-person and online real time classes. DS had a Zoom evaluation for AoPS in 3rd grade and then a Zoom evaluation for RSM in 4th grade, we switched programs to cut down on commute time. DS had to complete a test for the math competition class at RSM and was recommended by his teacher to move into RSM's National Math Competition program as a 6th grader. DS did not have to complete an evolution to sign up for the online AoPS AMC8 course this summer. The class did recommend that students have scored above a specific score to participate in the class but did not require proof that this had happened. DS had so we are comfortable with his placement. I think the in-person classes, whether it be physically in-person or a Zoom class, require evaluations and online taught classes, no video only discussion boards, do not. I have no experience with Curie.
